An Isometric Action RPG set in a Lovecraftian dystopia inspired by games such as Hades, Bloodborne, and Darkest Dungeon. Unlike typical RPGs which emphasize explicit choice, EXP experiments with drawing conclusions from moment to moment gameplay directly. The player character begins with a complex, generalized combat toolkit which enables various potential playstyles. Once they complete the final bossfight, an algorithm is used to diagnose which of 5 classes fits a player best based on sophisticated telemetry collected throughout the game. Conclusions about player behavior are extrapolated from variables like the average range at which players deal damage and how frequently they use each ability. The player is then placed in an infinite training ground where they can test out the upgraded class that has been assigned to them.
